5 Reasons We Keep Going Back to Bella Pacifica Campground in Tofino

We've camped in quite a few places around Vancouver Island, but Bella Pacifica on Mackenzie Beach in Tofino is one of the spots we keep coming back to.

1. The Beach Is Right There

This is probably our favourite part. You can walk from your campsite straight onto the beach in seconds. Which is the best for us with kids.

2. You Can Easily Spend The Whole Day Here

We usually end up staying around Mackenzie Beach and hardly leave. Grab a coffee, go for a beach walk, rent a paddleboard, take a cold dip, or just sit and watch the kids play in the sand. You can even go for a sauna and get dinner out right on this beach. Honestly, we love it.

3. The Sunsets Are Pretty Hard To Beat

If the weather cooperates, make sure you're on the beach in the evening. We've taken way too many sunset photos here over the years and still keep taking more.

4. Close To Town

One of the best things about Bella Pacifica is that you're only a few minutes from town. Forgot marshmallows? Need ice? Tired of camp cooking? You can bike or drive into Tofino within minutes.

5. It's Easy With Kids

Big beautiful sandy beach, tide pools, trails nearby, and tons of room to explore. Our kids are never bored here, which makes camping a whole lot more relaxing for us.

A Few Local Tips

• Grab groceries before heading into Tofino if you can (a little cheaper in Port Alberni).

• Don't skip the evening sunset beach walk.

• If you don't feel like cooking one night, Browns Socialhouse at Tin Wis is an easy option right on the beach. My kids love the burger and grilled cheese there.
